Described as “simply the best singer in the business” by none other than The Chairman of the Board, Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett is simply the coolest octogenarian around. It’s hard not to overdo the superlatives when one considers his career. He had his first hit (Boulevard of Broken Dreams) in 1950 long before any of the MTV generation was born. With 14 Grammys under his belt and over 50 million records sold worldwide he has many honours to his credit, but the fact that he is still touring and producing hits in his 83rd year is the real story. Mr. Bennett is a true icon in the industry and “the best friend the great American songbook has ever had” according to National Public Radio’s Jazz Profiles.
